It is with great shock and sadness to have to say that our Solo Euphonium player Robert Jose tragically died in the early hours of the morning on Thursday 22nd December. There are no words to describe the way we are all feeling. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He was one in a million who will be greatly missed by us all. We ask that you please respect the privacy of the family at this very difficult time.
The funeral will be held on Saturday 7th January, 11:00am at Camborne Parish Church

West of England Bandsmen's Festival
Under the baton of Garry Cutt, Roche Brass entered the Championship Section of the West of England Bandsmen's Festival at Bugle on Saturday 18th June, and put in a fine performance of the set Testpiece, Variations on a Ninth, and the set March, ORB.
The performances gained us a very respectable 2nd place in both pieces ahead of Wantage, St. Austell, and Hyde respectively, and only just being pipped by St. Dennis to 1st place.
Solo Cornet player Kayleigh Mitchell also picked up the award for Best Cornet Player of the Day, Rob Rogers won Best Soprano of the Day, and Richard Hawkey, Clive Bunt, Andy Batten, and Barney Donohew picked up the award for Best set of Basses.
Thanks go to the bands Resident Musical Director Lee Clayson who prepared the band once again in preparation for Garry Cutt to take over the week before the contest.

Regional Championships and Promotion to the Championship Section!
The band took part in the Regional Championships in Torquay on Sunday 13th March, performing Edward Gregson’s Essay for Brass Band under the baton of Garry Cutt.
Competing in the 1st Section, the band achieved a respectable 4th place out of 15 bands, which was enough to gain promotion to the Championship Section from January 2017!
The band are delighted to have achieved Championship status from 2017 and would like to thank our Resident MD Lee Clayson for preparing the band, and our Musical Advisor Garry Cutt who led the band so well again on stage.
