July - Home Sweet Home
Over the past year we have been working hard to find a new home for both the Senior and Junior band within the village, and are now delighted to announce that we have secured a lease for the First Floor above Roche Co-op!
We have a lot of work to do as the whole premises needs renovating, but we have been very fortunate so far with some help from some local businesses including Howdens, Jewson’s, and Marshall Fitting in Bodmin, as well as some generous hard graft from local tradesmen and band members.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Roche Victory Hall, Roche Sports & Social Club, and Roche Methodist Church for accommodating us over the last few years, we wouldn't be where we are now without their help.
Having our own place will enable us to grow from strength to strength as an organisation and we cannot wait to make it our new home!
June - WEBBA Contest
Under the baton of David Johnson, Roche Brass entered the Championship Section of the West of England Bandsmen's Festival at Bugle on Saturday 15th June, and put in a fine performance of the set Testpiece, Journey into Freedom, and the set Hymn,
The Lord Bless You and Keep You.
The performances gained us 1st prize in the Hymn tune and 3rd in the testpiece which was a fantastic achievement against tough competition.
Congratulations go to Camborne on their deserved win on the testpiece.
May - British Open Senior Cup
